Title: pre and post cursor information from S21 Post by raja.cedt on Mar 18th, 2015, 11:19am dear all, How to estimate relative strengths of significant pre an post cursors with Channel S21. For exact numbers I have to do IFFT of the transfer function but if there is any simple method, then we could easy tell the impact of high peaking CTLE on the ISI or impact of the mid-band rise/gain of the ctle. or can any one explain slide 30,31,34 in the following material, so author got that information with each modification in overall response? https://www.pcisig.com/developers/main/training_materials/get_document?doc_id=cfa3a5da963028f8cccbde4bb057090edcd5590b Thanks, Raj. |

As I don't have access to the said doc and its slide nos. but Impulse response will always be more informative than s21 response of the channel. Unless one doesn't have gain and phase plot of AC response of the channel, its difficult to predict pre/posr cursor but it becomes easier on looking the impulse response. -Bharat |
