Title: Phase Noise Contribution of the Tail Current Source in LC_VCO
Post by Kyle on Jul 16th, 2015, 2:10am

hi,
everyone, now I have a question about the phase noise contribution of the low frequency noise in the tail current source.
As mentioned in several papers, the low frequency noise in the tail current source can be mixed up into a pair of sidebands around the carrier. And they are AM sidebands. How to prove that they are AM sidebands not the PM sidebands?

If anyone knows anything about this problem. pls let me know, thanks a lot !

Hegasi, Rael, and Abidi go into this topic in some depth in their book.
