Hi,

How do we determine DC gain requirement for a pipelined ADC. I was reading on some papers that it depends on the resolution of the converter. According to the equation

A > 2^N
Where A is the DC gain and N is the resolution of the converter. So , for a 8-bit ADC, minimum required DC gain is 48.16dB according to above euation.

Is it correct way of estimating gain ?

Hello Rbh,

Can you please tell me from which paper you got this equation. I need this formula as well for a 14 bit ADC, please let me know. :)
