Title: Monte-Carlo Simulations in UMC180...?
Post by Ramakrishna RSSM on May 20th, 2017, 3:35am

Hi all,

How to rum Monte-Carlo Simulations in Cadence Virtuoso Analog Design Environment...? I'm using UMC180 Technology on IC616. The model files are been loaded to ADE automatically because of *.il file at schmatic level. I'm able to locate Monte Carlo model fles @ /Models/Spectre/Monte_Carlo. Since in my design I'm using only NMOS & PMOS, I've to use only

mm180_reg18_v124_mc.lib.scs
mm180_reg18_v124_mc.mdl.scs
mm180_reg18_v124_mc_corner.lib.scs
mm180_reg18_v124_mc_statistical_m.mdl.scs
mm180_reg18_v124_mc_statistical_p.mdl.scs.

Kindly let me know how to run MC @ ADE-XL..?

Am i need to modify anythind in the above said files since it saying..

ERROR (ADEXL-5052): Monte Carlo run stopped because no statistical data generated for the test

Follow the attachments for my concern......

Thanks in advance.......

"Nominal simulation may have failed."

Can you run the nominal simulation?

Can you run a single MC trial and view the simulator log file?

Thanks a lot for your reply Geoffrey_Coram.

The issue has been resolved....

Add "* parameters sigma = 3* " in
MM180_REG18_V124_MC_STATISTICAL_P.mdl.scs
file.

And, what does that mean?
and, why only add to PMOS.scs file?

Thanks a lot for you Question AnilReddy.

To the best of my knowledge...
