The pwl file
Mar 01st, 2005, 8:35am

Dear all,

I have created the pwl source file from digital inputs according to the MIT Hspice conversion program scripts (The Hspice Conversion (hspc) program provides an easy method of modifying hspice netlists to support digital input signals) provided in this link.

http://www-mtl.mit.edu/research/perrottgroup/tools.html#hspc

The output looks like this.

Quote:
v_A0 A0 0 pwl '0*(10n)' '3'
+, '0*(10n)+.3n' '3', '1*(10n)' '3'
+, '1*(10n)+.3n' '0', '2*(10n)' '0'
+, '2*(10n)+.3n' '0', '3*(10n)' '0'
+, '3*(10n)+.3n' '3', '4*(10n)' '3'
+, '4*(10n)+.3n' '0', '5*(10n)' '0'
+, '5*(10n)+.3n' '0', '6*(10n)' '0' ..........

This is for a 0.3 n sec rising and falling transitions and 10n sec time spanning for each binary signal.

I would like to know whether the above output can be used for cadence/spectre simulations. or do i need to change any thing else in the above output.

Where should i keep the pwl file and how do i point to that file for vpwlf source ?

Do i have to join the vpwlf source to my adder with wires or it not necessary ?

I have a snapshot to assist you in here.

Thanks in advance,
kamesh.
