PCB Design
Jul 30th, 2005, 7:50pm

Hello,

I will shortly get back my fabricated 14-bit ADC and need to design a PCB to test it. I used Virtuoso in Cadence to layout my chip and Spectre to simulate my chip.

Which software should I use to design the PCB? Since my expected sampling rate is close to 100 MHz, I think it is important I somehow parasitic extract and simulate the PCB. Can this be done in any software reliably?

It would be good to simulate the PCB (extracted) along with my ADC's netlist (I have both HSPICE and SPECTRE netlists for my ADC). Is this possible?

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Sid
