Mixed Signal Simulation (Partition eError)
Aug 17th, 2006, 12:51am

Hi All,
In a mixed signal simulation setup, I get the following lines indicating that partitioning is not possible:

"*USRERR: Selected context view string 'functional'
offers no suitable view for inst I110 referencing placed master Test.bb_counter.symbol
in cell Module tune, lib Test, view schematic, configViewString spectre functional veriloga schematic.
Please check HDB configuration or library setup.
*Error* Failed to partition the design.
     ...unsuccessful.
*Error* Cannot create and partition the design.
*Error* Must fix design errors before netlisting.
     ...unsuccessful. "

I have a functional view for the mentioned cell and in my config table I have correctly set it up to see the functional view. What can be the problem?

I assume you're using spectreVerilog? (not AMS?). If so, it may be that the .cdb file in the functional view is not present or not up to date (this can happen if the functional text file has been edited outside of the environment).

Try opening the functional view in DFII, adding a blank line (i.e. make a nominal change), save and exit the editor.

This will cause the file to be re-parsed, and the .cdb file recreated.

Regards,

Andrew.
