unable to pass operating point from tran to DC
Nov 23rd, 2006, 12:53am

Hi,

I am trying to run a transient analysis, and then run a DC sweep after the transient analysis is over. This is because I would like to perform the DC analysis (a temperature sweep) on the circuit after it is settled to its final state.

For this purpose, I trying passing the final operating point "spectre.fc" to the DC analysis with readns, but surprisingly, the circuit operating point is recalculated at the start of the DC analysis, and of course this is not the operating point I wish to analyze. In a nutshell, the circuit is trimmed in the transient analysis and I analyze the trimmed circuit at the end.

I have used this approach before as well, but somehow it does not work this time. I have set the temeperature at which the tran analysis runs to the starting temperature for the DC sweep. Any idea what could be the problem?

Regards
Vivek

I'm not quite sure, but I belive you should use
'readforce'.

From 'sepcre -help dc':

14      readns            File that contains estimate of DC solution (nodeset).
15      readforce         File that contains force values.
