mdl exception error!!
Feb 07th, 2007, 2:23am

Hey guys,

MDL was running smooth 'n fine and all... now,I get a new 'exception error' since morning..
it goes like:
Error found by spectre during transient analysis `showVhys_td-004_showVhys_td',
       during task `MDLControl'.
   EXCEPTION: St9bad_alloc

Internal error found in spectre.  Please run `getSpectreFiles' or send the
netlist, the spectre log file, the behavioral model files, and any
other information that can help identify the problem to
       support@cadence.com.
Assertion failed in file `msgHandler.c' at line 1650.
   Assertion failed.

Appreciate diagnosis of the above.
Thanks!
Gau

Gau,

This is a memory error of some type that may or may not be MDL related.  It could also be caused by the
simulator.

In this particular case I would suggest contacting your field support person and filing a bug report with them.

Thanks,

Yea, Scott- it's indeed a simulator error due to memory!
I was getting confused by the "MDL control" in the error message.

It was just a wrong "stop" parameter for the tran analysis.

Thanks for your time.

Regards,
Gau
