Does the output probe contribute to the  nois
Nov 29th, 2007, 4:38am

Hi, there
when I am simulating noise, usually a resistor or a port are specified as output probe, I just want to know if the output noise comprises the contribution due to the resistor or output port?

Thanks.

Hi,
Output noise takes into account all the noise of the circuit including the load, NF calculated with a probe eliminates the noise due to the probe.
PS:check Virtuoso Spectre Circuit Simulator Reference for a detailed explanation of how spectre calculates noise quantities.
Hope it helps,

Running "spectre -h noise" would also give you the information you needed.
