Recommendation of good directional coupler
Dec 01st, 2007, 4:11am

Hi.

When I do load-pull measurement,
I use 4port_directional_coupler + variable_attenuator + sliding_short.
This is well-known passive load-pull method.

But my directional coupler is not good.
Is there any good directional coupler of 5GHz ~ 6.5GHz ?

The following system is very expensive.
http://www.maurymw.com/products/rfdcs/loadpull/atsprods/atsintro.htm

How do you do load-pull measurement inexpensively for 5GHz ~ 6.5GHz ?

Hi,
Have you taken a look at M/A-COM?http://www.macom.com/psc/jsp/ListParts.jsp?dataFile=couplers.txt, I used in the past Gunn diodes from them(not directional couplers) but I think they are pretty good at MW, if not maybe ANAREN(but I don't know it they reach your desired range of frequencies).
Hope it helps,
