input referred noise calculated by ADE
Apr 15th, 2010, 7:52pm

Dear All,
The unit of input referred noise as reported by ADE is V/sqrt(Hz). Can someone tell whether this V is Vrms or only V ?  The noise spec set by system designer is in vrms/sqrt(Hz).

Hi Dipanker,

I don't understand why the noise spec is in vrms/sqrt(Hz). Bear in mind this is power spectral density of noise, not integrated power or rms value. The unit is usually V/sqrt(Hz) or V^2/Hz in engineering.
