inductor de-embedding thru connection
Apr 26th, 2010, 12:52am

Hi all,

just wondering, for de-embedding the parasitics in an inductor measurement, we need to provide open short-port1, short-port2 and thru setups. For the thru setup, the thru line can be quite long. At high frequency it is a transmission line and not really a perfect connection. I was wondering would it be more accurate to bring the two feeding ports closer together in the thru setup so as to remove the effect of an imperfect conductor?

thanks,
Aaron
