Nonlinear Dependent Sources in HSpice
Sep 07th, 2010, 12:44pm

Dear all.

I am trying to simulate a very simple circuit in Synopsys HSpice which should have a current-dependent current source (CCCS).

However, this CCCS must be a nonlinear.

While I am be to find in the user manual the support for polynomial, delay, ... type of CCCS, I am not able to find how to include other arithmetic functions.

For example, my CCCS should take the log() of the current it is dependent on. That is:

Vbias p 0 10
R1 p 0 50

** and then
CCCS that should take the log() or other function of the current through R1

Please, please help me on this; I have tried for a couple of day, but have not progressed. Please help me on this.

Thank toy for your time and help.

Best regards,

Surely read documents of HSPICE.

The followings are extractions from documents of HSPICE. Quote:
Current-Dependent Current Sources — F-elements
This section explains the F-element syntax and parameters.
Note:
G-elements with algebraics make F-elements obsolete. You can still use Felements for backward-compatibility with existing designs.

Use G-Element instead of F-Element.
Code:
Gxxx n+ n- CUR=’equation’ <MAX>=val> <MIN=val> <M=val> <SCALE=val>
