Basic RF circuit hspice simulation
Sep 26th, 2010, 3:56pm

Hi All,

I am new to RF circuit design. I have a basic doubt here. I am trying to simulate an inductor model in hspice. Now what should I be keeping the voltage source as ? Should I be taking sin source for simulation ? If it is a sin source, what should be its frequency ? Should I calculate resonant frequency by hand and specify that as sin source's frequency ?

I will appreciate if someone can solve my doubts.

Regards,
Kanu

What about the inductor are you trying to simulate?  Q? S-parameters? Transient response?

I have modeled a spiral inductor according and have its equivalent circuit in terms of Rs, L, Reddy, Cp and Cox. I was trying to simulate this circuit to find its effective impedance.

I thought AC simulation, sweeped over the frequency, should be enough. Only I have to take care of measuring the impedance at required frequency. Please let me know if my simulation method is right.

Thanks,
Kanu
