HSPICE .net & .lin

For the Sparameter analysis, user can use .net & .lin analysis.
What are the differences between them?

The .NET analysis is the original HSPICE network analysis command.  .NET is limited to 1 or two terminal networks and cannot output a S-parameter file such as a Touchstone formatted file.

The .LIN analysis is the newer network analysis.  .LIN is much more flexible and easier to use than .NET analysis.  The .LIN analysis can extract network parameters for networks with large numbers of terminals.  S-parameters files in Touchstone format can be output for use in other simulations.
