PSS and pac analysis on comparator with internal hysteresis
Feb 27th, 2013, 10:35pm

I need to simulate a GAIN of a comparator which has internal hysteresis.
when i run PSS and PAC analysis, i am getting an error.

Simulator: Spice3
Error: Floating point exeception.

How can i solve this error?

The Spice3 I know doesn't support PSS nor PAC.  Are you really using Spice3?  Are you using a shooting method for PSS?  Can you try fixed-point iterations?  Can you have it do a long initial transient?  Do you have problems with transient?  If you run a really long transient, does it look like it's converging to a periodic steady-state?

If at first you do succeed, STOP, raise your standards, and stop wasting your time.

Thanks for the reply.

I could fix the problem as one of the input in the analysis window should be only a numerical value.

After the PSS and PAC successful run, how should i plot Gain versus time.
