Hi .....I am working on MTJ based circuits. The Magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) has two terminals, one on top (v1) and the other on bottom (g1) which are used to provide voltage to MTJ to program it to 1 or 0 Or to make it work as a part of some logic. The current in an MTJ flows in both directions. I am using hspice to model them. I am trying to find the average current for the MTJ by using these commands
.measure tran supplycurrent_top avg i(v1) .measure tran supplycurrent_bottom avg i(g1)
supplycurrent_top is coming out to be negative. supplycurrent_top is coming out to be positive.
My question is how the average current is being calculated in Hspice ? as the current through a single terminal itself is bidirectional. Did it just consider both the positive and negative current values without the polarity ? Or did it give the final current value after taking polarity of the currents into account ?
