Differential LNA simulation using spectre
Jul 30th, 2004, 6:10pm

Hi,

Could anybody please help me with how to simulate a differential RF lna circuit using Cadence spectre tool? The spectre manual has the procedure for a single ended lna. I need to find the gain, S-parameters and noise figure of the circuit. I tried using the differential circuit testbench given in this site, but am not getting right values. Anybody familier with this, please help!!!

Here's what you should do. Inside Diff LNA, insert ideal balun (it's in analogLib library) on input and output side so that from symbol point of view you have single ended RF going in and out; and, calculating NF, Sij is same as the single ended one. I hope it helps. Thanks.
