period jitter and cycle-to-cycle jitter
Oct 19th, 2004, 6:44am

Hi,

I am confused by the definition of period jitter and cycle-to-cycle jitter for a long time. Somebody said that they were the same.

I wonder if they are equal by definition or NOT?

Thanks
Yawei

Period Jitter: It is the difference between the measured period and the Ideal period.
The Period Jitter is used in diagnostics for the cross talk and modulation.

Cycle to cycle: It is  the difference between the consecutive bit periods.
