GmC Oscillator
Feb 23rd, 2005, 6:21pm

Does anybody know what a GmC oscillator is?

My understanding is this is different from an LC Tank which is a "negative trasconductance oscillator".

Any help/hints is appreciated.

A gm-C oscillator is an oscillator consisting purely of transconductors and capacitors. You are probably looking to use one in a tuning loop, am i right?

right,
I also think gmC oscilator is ofter used in the tuning circuit, such as pll tunner for gmC filter. it should Cooperate with other gmC cells.
then, A Master-Slave structure is formed to adjust the Q-factor or cut-off freq. of gmC filter.
