waveform window in CADENCE analog design environme
May 26th, 2005, 1:36am

Hey guyz,

I m currently designing clock data recovery circuits... I have functionally got my CDR working on Mentor Graphics EDA tools (design architect, ADMS simulator)TSMC018 at 1.8Volts... I have to now switch to cadence design tools ... which is analog artist, Analog Design Environment...

I am gettig used to these set of tools ... i just got introduced a couple of weeks ago...

I see that the waveform window has no scroll bar...
my simulation is for 10uS
and i have 12 phase oscillator sampling 4 bits... pseudo random data...

so its many waveforms to check and i dont find a scroll bar on the waveform window.. neither horizontal or veritcal... the screen refresh rate takes ages for aveform to appear...

I used EzWave when using mentor EDA tools... and the wave editor was very powerful...

is there any wave editor like Ezwave in cadence as well... ?
i cannot switch the axes when i have many waveforms... and so i click Curves-->edit---> and then strip the waves individually... is this the way things are i cadence ?

please suggest me how things like these should be handled ...

cheers,

Balavelan

What version are you using? If you use IC5141 or later, you have access to wavescan (the new waveform tool). This is the default in ADE (it's controlled via Session->Options in ADE in IC5141 onwards).

AWD (the old waveform tool) is a bit archaic, to say the least.

Regards,

Andrew.
