PSS work well sometime and fail rest time WHY....?
Nov 15th, 2005, 2:34pm

Hi,
I am doing a project on the Switched Capacitor Filter.
I read many articles on how to do the simulation.

On doing the PSS analysis, it worked well 2 months back.
I used 100MHz clock speed, dc source as an input and time for stabilization Tsab= 1.5ms and it worked fine.

But on the another circuit with frequency of 1GHz, dc source as input and Tsab =1.5 ms it took long time like for 1% simulation it has taken appro. 2 hour so 100% simulation it will take 200 Hr....which is not possible as there are many circuits to do simulation.

I tried to decrease the Tsab it shows it is failed, as fatal error.

My question is how PSS actually work, it works well for 100MHz frequency but for 1GHz it failed.

Please Help me

cheers

Atul,

Do you have any other information that you could
share? Log files, comments about error preset, comments
about the simulation, ... Have you tried re-using the
initial conditions from previous simulations?

                                                   Best Regards,

                                                     Sheldon
