Team Design Manager
Jan 30th, 2006, 6:13am

I have a problem with Cadence's Team Design Manager:
when trying to creat a project or workarea using TDM commands I get the following message:

Error (tdmmkworkarea): the version of the tdmcopier (1868787273) does not
match the expected version (7).
You probably have an old version of the tdmcopier installed.
You can use the tdmcheck -f command to update the tdmcopier.
Error (tdmmkworkarea): the tdmcopier child process could not be run,
command aborted.
command completed, exit status is 1 (failed).

but I cannt run the tdmcheck -f command becouse it must be run from a workarea directory .

how can I solve this problem?

Thank You!

What version of the IC tools are you running? Something strange is happening, because the version number returned by tdmcopier is bizarre...

Are you running in 64 bit mode (do you have CDS_AUTO_64BIT env var set)?

The usual solution to this is to run the "tdmupgrade" command to upgrade a project from a previous release - but not sure if your project was created in a previous version of the tools?

Regards,

Andrew.

I use the version 4.5 of Team Design Manager.
I'm running in 32 bit mode and I don't have any env variable such as CDS_AUTO_64BIT. Do I need any?
I cannt run  "tdmupgrade" becous I don't have any project created in any version. I just started useing of TDM.

Thanks!

Well, you can't create a workarea until you've created a project...

Have you created a project first? I know the error comes from creating a workarea - that's what you originally said... but I mentioned that you have to create a project before creating a workarea, and you've not answered whether you've done that.

Probably the right thing to do here is to contact customer support - that way you can interact with somebody more closely than I can do in a forum like this.

Andrew.
