pss with mixer and frequency divider
May 04th, 2006, 1:52pm

Hi all,

I am new to RF design, and I need to simulate a receiver. A build in divide-by-2 is present in the circuit and therefore the LO input is 2 times of what I will be using for the actual mixing. The problem is that I cannot get the pss to calculate the correct output harmonics I needed. Is there anyway to get around this?

Thanks,
Chase

Hi Chase,

In the pss form, ensure you have unticked "auto calculate" for the pss fundamental, and enter the number yourself.

For example, if the only large tone in your testbench is the LOsource @2G and you know there is a divide-by-2, then you set the pss fundamental to 1G.

Cheers,
aw
