Sensitivity Analysis issue
Aug 24th, 2006, 2:28am

Hey,

I have been trying to simulate a SENS sensitivity analysis of an amplifier circuit with Spectre, specifically the sensitivity of the output voltage to various component parameters.

When I try to verify the SENS sensitivity given wrt a certain resistor resistance, the number is a factor of 5 higher than the 'sensitivity' that I calculate by doing a parameter sweep of resistor values around the operating point (i.e. just plotting dV/dR).

I am working with partial sensitivity values from the SENS analysis (of course I have the same issue with normalised sensitivity).

I would be most grateful for any insight into what may be causing this.

Phil
