The speaker spice model in the class d amp design
Dec 18th, 2006, 2:18am

Hi,
We are developing a class d audio amplifier whivh is used in the PDA or GSM mobile phones. The amplifier is filterless, i.e. the amplifier is driving the speaker load directly. I wonder, in the designing phase, how should i model the speaker load? A simple inductor seried with parallel connected Cap and Rload is enough for the design? If so, what is the value of the inductor and cap?

Thanks

Hey,
Check out http://www.triplexfx.iceamplifiers.co.uk/ssmg.php.

Its got a Spice model generator that will produce a model of a speaker from parameters that you enter. You should be able to get hold of these from any manufacturer.
