open access ???
Mar 31st, 2007, 7:55pm

Dear Sir,

I am a user, just getting evaluating mmsim61.
I am hearing some about OPEN ACCESS.
And no one explained why is this happening.
Appearently, designers do like tool changes, specially drastically.

Is OPEN ACESS an idea about CAE that,
we can acess schematic / simulate ...
same database not only thru composor + ADE
but also other tools???

thanks,

It is my understanding that OA is largely focused on physical design tools. I don't believe anyone is using it for schematics, just layout.

Well, Cadence are also using it for schematics, but it's true that the primary focus has been on physical representation.

Regards,

Andrew.
