Turn off flicker noise for pnoise-analysis
Apr 27th, 2007, 6:13am

Does somebody know how to turn off the flicker noise for
a pnoise-analysis (and to simulate white noise only)?

You could remove the parameters in the device models which define the flicker noise.

Why do you want to do this? You can always see the noise contributions of each type of noise source after the simulation.

Andrew.

When using the pnoise
analysis for simulating jitter/phase noise I can't display
how the phase noise would look like without flicker noise.(??)

But I agree with you that the noise summary shows
the indivual noise contributers. I will probably be content
with that, rather than modifying the transistor model
files.

my experience showed the reliable way is still turn off it in model file. for example in bsim3 model, assign noimod=1 and kf=0.
