Start up time of class-d audio amplifer
Jan 31st, 2008, 10:24pm

Hi,
I found many datasheets of class-d audio amplifier used in the PDA or mobile phone gives the startup time of 1ms or 9ms etc...
Would anyone pls. tell me what role does this time play in system requirements of PDA or mobile phone applications?

Thanks

Probably has to do with the time cycling of the system. The designer that uses the part knows how long it takes to turn on/off and can budget that into the system control, knowing they have to wait a fixed period of time before using the amplifier.

Hi,

Startup time has a lot of definition, such as when the amplitude doubled or frequency offset within a certain delta f. Different system has different definition. Normally it is used to define the system from startup to become stable time.
