hi every one ... does anybody know an efficient way to simulate group delay for a SC filter within Cadence?

Hello XY-oriented,

I assume you are asking for a function group delay vs. frequency.
This requires an ac analysis to be performed with a suitable simulator. However, before you have to transfer your SC filter to a time continuous equivalent circuit. That means you have to replace each SC unit by another element which is linear and has some storage characteristic. There are two methods to do the job.

Several days ago I have answered within this forum to a similar question.  Please look at
the following topic : RF Simulators/Simulation of SC Filters/Reply 3

Some additional hints: After having adapted your SC circuits you have to perform an ac analysis with linear   frequency scaling. Then you display the negative differential of the phase function. This gives you a curve showing the group delay vs. frequency.
Good luck

Use SpectreRF's PAC analysis, plot derivative of phase with respect to frequency.
