Cadence Modelwriter, creating new template
Jun 16th, 2008, 5:56pm

Hi all,
Is it possible to ceate new model templates for use with the cadence modelwriter GUI. If so, how to do that ? Any references on the format will be greatly helpful.
Modelwriter is a decent UI for creating verilog-a/ams models, but if we cannot add new model templates its use is severly restricted.
Thanks a lot

We did some work related to the modelwriter some years ago as far as I do remember.
However, in my oppinion, it's use is very limited, although it's possible to create new templates.
You should check with your local sales representative or via sourcelink.

Regards,

Stefan

I don't  know the status of the tool today.. but 4 years ago there was documentation on where to put the templates you wrote youre self and what env var to set so it knows were to find them.. Actually maybe it was longer ago than that.. As that was a project I was working on back in 2001-2002..
I think modelwriter was not a bad idea.. but perl is a more useful language for model template processing.. at least that has been my experience.
