DC offsets in general
Aug 22nd, 2008, 7:17am

Hi all,

does anyone know of a good resume of dc offset introduced problems for various systems, taking modulation, bandwidth, latency, etc. into account?

Especially the differences between GSM and UMTS would be of interest to me...

Regards,

Stefan

You might want to clarify the question some. If this is about offset cancellation in GSM vs. WCDMA receivers systems?

GSM offset cancellation often takes advantadge of the TDMA characteristics of the system, and cancels reciever offsets whil in transmit mode.

Since WCDMA is full duplex, (no receiver off time so to speak) the offset cancellation tends to be continuous, generally using a feedback system of some form.
