How to simulate charge pump noise?
Oct 28th, 2008, 8:43pm

Hi guys,

I have following questions about charge pump noise simulation?

1. When I use this charge pump noise to model pll noise, I should use noise PSD (A/sqrt(Hz)) or phase noise (dBc/Hz)?

2. Assume I try to use noise PSD, which simulation I should run by noise, pnoise or others ... ?

Thanks in advance

Hi jlee
I think PSD noise should be obtained first from PNOISE analysis. The phase noise contribution from CP equals PSD noise multiplying its transfer function.
