Problem with wavescan
Dec 21st, 2008, 9:39pm

When I open the cadence program I get the following error message that suggests using the AWD simulator instead of wavescan temporarily. The AWD simulator works fine but I want to know what's the problem. Does anyone know what is the problem? Here is the actual error message :

*WARNING* Function "trFDKPostInstallTrigger" is not callable
*Error*   Failed to launch WaveScan. There is a problem with the DFII
installation hierarchy (Exit Code = 81)
For further assistance, contact Cadence Customer Support
with diagnostic information available in the log file.
You can use AWD as your waveform viewer until the problem is resolved
Could not create the Java virtual machine

What subversion are you using (icfb -W will tell you)?

There was a case of this happening in early IC5141 versions if you had a Java SDK/JRE in your path before IC - but the wavescan wrappers were adjusted in an ISR to correct for this.

Generally speaking though, I would recommend contacting Cadence Customer Support about this - as there are a bunch of detailed questions that would make sense to try in order to diagnose this.

Best Regards,

Andrew.
