Out-of-band IP3 of Low Pass Filter Simulation
Jul 22nd, 2009, 7:32am

Hi, I have a low pass filter with a corner frequency of fc and I want to check the out of band IP3 performance with two blocker tones f1 and f2. Both f1 and f2 are far away from fc, i.e. they are attenuated by the filter response. From the paper "Accurate and rapid measurement of IP2 and IP3" by Ken Kendurt, there are some spectreRF simulation examples for finding the IP3 for LNA and mixer. I was wondering could I perform the same simulation for my low pass filter? If I am not mistaken, the examples in the paper are finding the in band IP3, not the out-of-band IP3. Could I use the well known equation of IP3=P1+(oP1-oP12)/2 as well? Thanks!
