Wavescan problem
Aug 11th, 2009, 7:06pm

Hi All,
I have done a mixed signal simulation. but in wavescan all my signals come as analog. When I try to make them as bus, my Trace->bus is disable and I am not able to make them as bus.
does anybody know about this?

Thanks,
Mehran

Hi Mehran,

Only explanation I can think of is because your nets have been resolved in the analog domain and hence you can't make a bus out of analog signals.

You need to check the discipline resolution in your design. either by using the AMS viewing utility in your schematic or by typing the following into the simvision command prompt:
ncsim> scope -aicm -rec -all

You may check in the HED that involved instances/cells are not bind to transistor level subcircuits .. etc. Just few thoughts given the very few information you provided Sad

Cheers,
Riad.

Hi Riad,
Thanks for reply. sorry for incomplete information. I am doing the simulation using spectreVerilog and my digital cells have only functional view. It seems that if I connect a digital cell to another digital cell, it shows as bus, but when it goes to analog blocks, it shows only as analog wave form.  :'(
Is there anything which I am doing wrong in this or after spectreVerilog put those d2a cells, I can not see my digital signals?
Thanks,
Mehran

I think you'll only see them as analog signals in spectreVerilog if they are connected to analog nodes. You can always use the wavescan capability to convert analog signals to digital, and then convert them back to a bus. There's an icon at the top of the waveform which you can use to convert the selected signals to digital.

Regards,

Andrew.

Try open wavescan using following option :

wavescan -expr mdl

How is opening wavescan in MDL mode going to help?

Andrew.

Hi Guys,

I do apologize for my above post as it was out of the topic. I meant Simvision with my comments not wavescan as being discussed in here.
Aplogies  :-[

Cheers,
Riad.
