Looking for advice/confirmation.  I'm using an Agilent E4405B SA and I'm looking at phase noise/spurs of a pll.  There are 4 detectors I can choose from peak, sample, neg peak, avg.

Does this seem reasonable:
1> For Spurs use Positive peak since I'm looking for the max spur level
2> For phase noise, use the avg (It does an rms avg)

3> For sample, it is recommended for noise but does it do ok for phase noise?
