RC extraction with floating dummy metal fill
Oct 06th, 2009, 10:37pm

Hi,

I would like to study how dummy metal insertion impacts my circuit performance. What extraction tools do you recommend for such RC extraction? AssuraRCX? QRC? or CalibreXRC?

Thanks!

Hi Terence,

Both Calibre and Assura handle the the dummy metal for post layout simulation. You may need to check with your foundry whether it does provide the right files though. I personally recommend Calibre XRC as Calibre is being the signoff tool of most of the foundries, at least for DRC. Again, you better ask your PDK provider or process foundry.

Regards,
Riad.
