multiphase clock distribution
Oct 12th, 2010, 11:40pm

Got 4 multiphase clocks:  ck0,ck90,ck180,ck270
What is the best layout arrangement for the clock distribution?

1) ck0 ck180 ck270 ck90
2) ck0 ck180 ck90 ck270

which one is preferable and the reason behind.
Thank in advance.

consider transferring the higher frequency signal and then re-creating the polyphase at the receiver.

No path balancing, no crosscoupling and the phase relationship is defined at the far end.

Also if its distance across a noisy chip go to a LVDS type of signal.
Less power and not corrupted by ground bounce.
