2V in 0.18um technology
Nov 18th, 2010, 9:27pm

I use 2V power supply instead of 1.8V  in 0.18um technology. I rise the power supply from 1.8V to 2V because my circuits (thin gate) need more headroom and bandwidth to run at much higher speed (doing research). Is it common to do so?

no its not acceptable because it will stress the devices but you can check with the foundry

Thanks.

the design is a CML logic where all the transistors do not experience more than 1V in their Vds and Vgs.

yes, we used it in DDR2 system 0.18um TSMC process to get high speed frequency.
