the .sens simulation
Feb 10th, 2011, 6:46am

After using .sens simulation we can get the sensitivity of output variables to certain parameters Svp=dv/dp.

How does spectre or spice calculate the sensitivity. it is not possible for simulators to use Svp=(V1-V2)/(p1-p1), otherwise simulator needs to evaluate the output variables twice and store all the data for subtraction.

is there anyone who could explain the inner algorithm for sens? Thanks a lot!!!

I think the simulator has to have the derivatives of the output variables with respect to the parameters.
