characteristic impedance calculator
Apr 05th, 2011, 5:00pm

Hi

I am wondering if there are any calculators out there that will provide the width for a 50 ohm transmission line, for different FR4 board thicknesses.

Thank you in advance.

vp1953,

You can use the rfcooltools for this by placing a series t-line component between two ports and playing around with the Height , Er and Width.  It is pretty basic.  I have not implemented loss tangent yet but that effect is usually a second order effect for most applications.
