R-2R DAC v.s. resistor -string DAC

Hello,
I am just wondering what's the different between a R-2R DAC and a resistor-ladder DAC, except that for the same resolution, R-2R use less components that the resistor-ladder.

read some adc basic book man....main in r-2r ladder you will see same resistance always whatever the bits you turn on.

R2-R works on principle of current division. They have issues with bias sensitivity resistors and parasitic effects.

I don't understand.resistor ladder DACs also have parasitic. can you please be more detailed? or give the list of some reference?

I think I have to agree with raja.cedt ... please have a look at the following wikipedia entry ...

it gives a basic intro. If you have further questions, please be a bit more specific, i.e. what are your constraints, what are you looking to achieve, topology ... etc ...
