Group Delay measurement in Cadence
Aug 13th, 2011, 5:07pm

Could someone please put me through how to plot/measure the average group delay vs frequency of a TransImpedance Amplifier in Cadence. Is it possible to plot -d(phase)/dw, if i recall, that's the definition of group delay! If i haved to find the derivative of the phase to do this, how do i plot phase in cadence? Thanks

Larry_80,

Depending on the version of cadence you are using it should be an explicit function in the calculator called "groupDelay".

Or you can use the deriv() function if you like, deriv(phase(VF("/vout"))/2/pi
