paramdef with spectre

I have try to use the paramedef directive with spectre but it does seem to  work. I am trying to do something like in the next reference:

Is if because the version is old ?
Does everybody know whether this directive is implemented or will be implemented in spectre?

What's paramedef?  There is paramset in recent versions of mmsim, but:

that's rather old.  (I don't know when paramset was added.)
