Close-in Sphi(f) versus close-in Sv(f)
May 23rd, 2012, 10:16am

Hi,

As explained in http://www.designers-guide.org/Theory/cyclo-paper.pdf (page 12), RF simulators cannot predict voltage-domain noise Sv(f) accurately below the line width (as small signal approximations do not hold). However, is the simulated Sphi(f) (phase noise in dBRad^2/Hz) predicted correctly below the oscillator linewidth?

Thanks,
Vaibhav
