Hacking BJT model file

Hi,
I wanted to explore the effects of BJT beta(current gain =ic/ib) on VBE nature w.r.t temp etc.

I planned to edit the existing model file for 'BF' (ideal forward beta) value to a large number like 100 and re-simulate.

does doing this make the new bjt model valid and practical �or does it have some dependency to any other model parameter?

So, beta is related to other model parameters (or, perhaps, other model parameters capture other aspects of the same underlying physics).

That said, you can probably change beta by a factor of 2 and still have a "reasonable" model.

If at first you do succeed, STOP, raise your standards, and stop wasting your time.
