Noise Figure Measurment Without Output Matching
Aug 28th, 2012, 4:10am

Hello,

I want to perform a noise figure measuremnt without an output matching of the lna. I used a second amplifier to amplifiy the noise signal and I calibrated out it's influence, but the noise meausremnt seems to be wrong. Maybe the reflections at the output influence the measuremnt. Has somebody an idea how to measure the NF of the LNA without output matching with a buffer ? Thanks for response.

Hi,

have you tried using your method on the simulated data first? That would be an easy way to check if your de-embedding method is correct.

Otherwise its difficult to give advice without more information, such as the method you used to de-embed the buffer noise.

regards,
Aaron
