mosfet as current source
Jul 24th, 2013, 5:25am

I was reading razavi's book where it was mentioned that " current source injects current into ground or draw current from VDD and only 1 terminal of current source is floating"

My question is if 1 terminal is floating how can the current flow as there has to be a loop   ???

I guess he means that the current is independent of the voltage, so the voltage can take on any value...

Hi,

The loop will be closed by other circuits where this Source/Sink of current is used.

Bye,

In this context it is a terminal which does not have a fixed voltage (e.g. ground, power supply, etc).
